How do I open an account with Swift Despatch?

Opening an account with Swift Despatch is quick and simple – just email newbusiness@swiftdespatch.com or call us on 0151 481 5800 and we will be happy to assist you.

Is my consignment insured?

The standard contract with APC Overnight limits the compensation payable for loss or damage to a maximum of £50 for Mail Pack, Courier Pack and Light Weight services and a maximum of £100 for all parcel services. Additional Liability cover can be added to your consignments at point of booking for an addition charge, up to a maximum of £15,000 for general goods or £3,000 for electricals and software, except those listed as goods not covered by standard insurance, and carried at the owner’s risk. As oversized consignments can no longer travel through the APC network, they are now subject to different terms and conditions. Standard liability cover is included on deliveries to business addresses but deliveries to residential addresses or third party collections are not covered. We are unable to offer any increased liability cover on oversized freight.

I need to send an overnight parcel, but I haven’t got an account with Swift. Can I pay by credit card?

Certainly – that’s no problem, we accept payment by Mastercard and Visa Credit or Debit Cards over the phone or at our reception drop of point. If you are a regular sender why not open an account, just click here for details.

What’s the largest/heaviest item I can send through the overnight service?

For parcels, a maximum limit of 30Kg and/or 2m per item now applies. APC apply a surcharge to items over 1.2m, please see the APC Freight Parameters Page for more details.

Can I have an overnight collection made from a remote address and returned to our company?

No problem. Remote collections can be made from anywhere in the UK. These collections can either be returned to yourselves or sent on to a 3rd party destination.

Does my consignment need to be packaged?

Yes, all consignments need to be packaged suitable for transport.
